报告摘要👲🏼：We construct a mathematical model from scratch to study the so-called porpoising effect in racing cars, and prove that, when adding a small periodic perturbation, large-amplitude subharmonic solutions may arise. The model is a periodically forced second-order differential equation with a discontinuous nonlinearity. The proof of the main result is based on truncation techniques and the Poincare-Birkhoff Theorem.
